胡粉と膠を混ぜたもの塗布後、乾かない内に薄い紙を張り付けると皮膚(人間)のような質感になり、純粋性の白を数種類塗り重ねることで、本来の自分の欲を見えなくさせるようなイメージでこのシリーズは作っています。

本来の欲は自然由来のもので、種の保存やその為の生命維持装置的に働いているものだったと認識しているのですが、現代はそれらに加えて地位や承認欲求(古代人にも少なからずこれらの欲はあった)がマーケティングとも紐付きながら加速度的に肥大し、他人の欲と自分の欲を混同しながら、やがて疲弊し、その疲弊の捌け口として嫉妬やヘイトに繋がっていくように感じます。

The works of Daisuke Uetsuki exist somewhere between furniture and art.
His furniture and objects, created with a strong awareness of space, are unlike mass-produced industrial products. Each piece is one of a kind, possessing a presence that is truly unique.
At Galleria Homo, we have been introducing Daisuke Uetsuki’s work for more than ten years.

植月大輔
1983年岡山県生まれの木工作家。
2017年独立、同年岡山県921GALLERYにて初個展開催。
2017年Galleria Homo(旧MUTTE)オープンに伴い店内家具を制作。
家具やオブジェ等、一点物の作品をメインとして製作。

Daisuke Uetsuki
Born in Okayama, Japan, in 1983, Daisuke Uetsuki is a woodworker and furniture artist.
He became independent in 2017, and held his first solo exhibition at 921GALLERY in Okayama that same year.
Upon the opening of Galleria Homo (formerly MUTTE) in 2017, he created the furniture for the gallery’s interior.
His practice centers primarily on one-of-a-kind works, including furniture and objects.
